My favourite recent makeup purchase, and yet another addition to my growing red lipstick collection is the Rimmel Lasting Finish in #166 Temptation. It keeps up with the high standard of quality set by Rimmel London lip products and is perfect for an everyday bold lip.

Unlike the rest of my red lipsticks, Temptation is slightly more subtle. It is not a bright, in your face type of red, as it is sort of diluted by the golden specs that give the shade a warmer feel. If you want to wear bolder makeup looks but you are intimidated by the classic red lip, this one is perfect for you. The warmth of the colour makes it great for most skin tones and a whole lot easier to apply. It is not one of those shades that need a lip liner to ensure nice defined application, you can simply apply it from the bullet and off you go.

The formulation is creamy and maintains the lips, preventing any dryness or bleeding of the product.
One of the definite pros of this product, and I think this line in general is the amazing pigmentation and the ability of the lipstick to just glide over imperfections, not leaving your lips looking cracked.
Also, unlike many shimmery lip products, which I usually detest, as they leave you looking like your lips had some sort of glitter rave, the shimmer is spectacularly minimal  once on the lips. They add a nice golden sheen, only noticeable under direct light. Subtle and classy.

I definitely recommend this lipstick line, and if you find it appealing, also the shade.

One downside is the packaging. It is kind of cheap looking when considering all the appealing makeup packaging that it is competing with, however if a shade appeals to you, do not let the packaging discourage you, because the product hiding inside is fabulous.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in #166 Temptation retails for AU $9.95 and can be purchased from drugstores and all leading retailers.
