he 1930's brought about the glamour of Hollywood and the excitement of fashion magazines. Gone were the heavy kohl eyes, the dark, unbalanced looks of the 1920s, and in came the refined pencil thin eyebrows and alluring pinks and shimmers. 

The focus was largely placed on the lips, making the eyes much more delicate and feminine. This was the decade when mascara became a necessity in every girls makeup kit and lips abandoned the defined cupids bow and headed towards a finer, thinned out horizontal shape, with a little extra on the upper lip in the evenings for that Rosebud effect.
Face sculpting/contouring also took off at a great scale during the 1930's and defined cheekbones became all the rave. For a modern approach, sculpted cheekbones, bare eyes and orange-red (or any other preferred dark or bold shade) lips are a must. For a touch of nonchalance, keep hair soft and tousled.
